Gruner + Jahr is taking an important step forward in its international expansion. For the first time in the history of magazines, Europe´s biggest magazine publisher is launching a title simultaneously in six countries. After over a year of extensive market research and development, GEO Slovakia launched in late October 2005 - simultaneously with issues in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia, Rumania and Turkey.

Most of this international GEO edition is produced by the international central office in Hamburg; a small part is created by the respective local editorial teams. The national editions of GEO International will offer the kind of content that have formed the basis for the magazine´s success in four countries for the past nearly 30 years: it takes a vivid and emotional look at the goals, upheavals and passions that shape our lives on planet Earth, always with a focus on people. GEO´s international editions rely on award-winning photographs, fascinating and in-depth stories, a fusion of visual opulence with entertaining texts.

In Slovakia, the international edition of GEO magazine is published in cooperation with publishing partner Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia, a. s..
