Focus Extra was launched in 1999 as a monothematic special issue of Focus. Since 2001 it has been released as anautonomous quarterly. Following the typical clear and strict, but also enjoyable Focus style, each issue deals with adifferent topic. Interviews with leading experts, in-depth articles, short facts, drawings and spectacular pictures illustrate the topics various aspects.

Among the editions that have been published so far: Science & the greatmisteries, religions, astronomical discoveries, human behaviour, ancient Rome. The summer issue is usually devotedto a wide collection of questions, that are partly suggested by readers, and their answers.
