Launch of GEO Bulgaria / First license edition of GEO International

On November 20th, Gruner + Jahr will launch the international reportage magazine GEO in Bulgaria. With this introduction, Gruner + Jahr continues the internationalisation of its GEO magazine which is now published in 16 countries; the launch of GEO Bulgaria is the first license edition of GEO International.
Licensee is the German WAZ-Group (Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung) which is one of the largest publishing houses in Bulgaria, where it has been successfully operating since 1996. This group publishes some of the leading daily and weekly newspapers in Bulgaria, seven magazines such as an upscale living magazine, and another international magazine license.
GEO Bulgaria will be published monthly with a print run of 25,000 copies, will contain a total 140 pages and have a cover price of BGN 4.95 (about EUR 2.50). The Bulgarian edition will be mainly editorially produced in Hamburg by the International Editor-in-Chief Christiane Breustedt. Editor-in-Chief of GEO Bulgaria is Julian Angelov.

The reportage magazine GEO is Gruner + Jahr´s most internationalised magazine brand and is now published with local editions in 16 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.
