G+J Austria: NEWS Publishing Group Launches Magazine For Young Women
Hamburg, May 7, 2004 Gruner + Jahr continues to expand its international portfolio, this time in Austria.
The local NEWS publishing group is launching a new magazine for young women between
the ages of 15 and 25. YOUNGSTYLE will make its debut on Austrian newsstands on May 7
and is specifically designed to cater to this target audience. The magazine will initially
be published twice a year; its seven sections will present reports and interviews on topics
including trends, fashion, beauty and love. YOUNGSTYLE has a handy pocket format and offers
148 pages at a cover price of 1.50. Its initial print run will be 90,000 copies.
The first issue, with 50 pages of ads, shows that the new title is very well received by advertisers.
Uschi Fellner, editor-in-chief of the highly successful Austrian edition of WOMAN magazine,
is YOUNGSTYLE´s publisher. Its acting editor-in-chief is Lisa Ulrich.
This latest launch brings the total number of magazines published by the NEWS group to 14, further
enhancing its position as Austria´s biggest magazine publisher.
Dr. Torsten-Jörn Klein, member of the G+J executive board and head of the International Magazines
division, declared: "The NEWS publishing group´s extremely promising performance once again underscores
the great importance of the Austrian market for Gruner + Jahr. The team headed by CEO Rudi Klausnitzer
continues to do outstanding work in a flat advertising environment. We will continue to invest in new
formats, as we have done with ´Youngstyle´ "
