The GEO family of quality magazines continues to grow. The latest addition is a licensed edition of GEO magazine in Romania. First introduced 27 years ago in Germany, GEO now appears in six countries around the world (Germany, France, Spain, Russia, South Korea and Romania).

The magazines in the GEO family reach a total of 18 million readers worldwide. These titles include GEO, the leading German knowledge and reportage magazine, GEO SAISON, GEO SAISON für Geniesser, GEO SPECIAL, GEO EPOCHE, GEO WISSEN, and the children´s magazines GEOLino and GEOLino Extra (Germany), GEO Ado (France), and GEOLenok (Russia). GEO is today one of the world´s most respected and successful magazine brandnames.

The premiere issue of GEO Romania will appear on August 20th 2003 with an initial print run of 20,000 copies and a cover price of 65,000 Lei (appx. EUR 1.70). The licensee is Univers-Verlag, which specializes in publishing knowledge magazines such as ´Scientific American´ in this south-eastern European country. In addition to publishing rights for the title, the license agreement also includes the regular inclusion of editorial materials from GEO Germany.
