Sachs Named Associate Publisher of Fitness
Magazine Robust with Record Ad Pages and Circulation - Positioned to Lead Growth in Beauty and Fashion

Julie Pinkwater, Publisher of Gruner + Jahr USA‘s Fitness magazine, announced that Jeanne Sachs joins the magazine as Associate Publisher. Sachs comes to Fitness from Gruner + Jahr USA‘s New Business Development team. Prior to that, she was Associate Publisher at Rosie magazine.
In this role, Sachs managed the nationwide sales staff while implementing strategic sales resentations and materials, research studies, and marketing programs. She was a key player in the growth and development of beauty and fashion accounts for the publication. In making the announcement, Pinkwater said, "we are thrilled to have Jeanne join the Fitness team. Her energy and positive attitude reflect the Fitness philosophy encompassing ‘mind, body and spirit.‘ We are particularly impressed with her experience developing beauty and fashion strategies which will enable Fitness to extend its strong brand to advertisers and consumers."

Sachs has also worked for the Magazine Consultancy where she was Group Publisher of the Youth Division, managing Twist, J-14 and M magazines. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Sales for the largest youth Web portal, Bolt, Inc., where she increased revenues from $500,000 in the first half of 1999 to over $20 million by the end of 2000. In 1994, Sachs first joined Gruner + Jahr USA at teen magazine, YM, as the Beauty Manager, subsequently moving on to become Advertising Manager in 1997 and then Advertising Director in 1998.
She was also an Account Manager at Vogue and Woman‘s Day magazines. Sachs holds a B.S. in International Business and Economics from New York University and a certificate from The Media School. Launched in 1992 and reaching 6.6 million readers, Fitness magazine is the source for all the latest news, trends and research for mind, body and spirit. According to the latest Group Publisher‘s Report from CMR, covering 2002, Gruner +Jahr USA has the highest number of increased ad pages and the second highest increase in ad dollars out of all the publishing companies included in the report.
