Gruner + Jahr has successfully launched the women´s magazine GLAMOUR in Poland. On average, the first three editions (April - June, 2003) of the monthly title found more than 330,000 female buyers. In comparison with the average sales in 2002 within the segment of high quality women´s titles, GLAMOUR was not only ahead of internationally renowned titles, such as "Elle" (94.896) and "Cosmopolitan" (121.331), but it also beat local magazine "Twój Styl" (295.507) from the very beginning.  ...more

As part of the strategic realignment of its international activities, Gruner + Jahr has sold its Russian operations to Axel Springer AG. The takeover of G+J Russia (OOO G+J Magazines) will become effective on December, 1 2009. The magazines GEO, GEOLenok, GEOTraveller and GALA Biografia and the www.geo.ru, www.moiroditeli.ru and www.moizvezdi.ru websites will be continued by Axel Springer Russia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Axel Springer, under license.   ...more

Gruner + Jahr´s growth was faster than that of any other German major publisher for the second consecutive year, forcefully underscoring its position as Europe´s biggest magazine publisher and Germany´s highestsales publishing house. Gruner + Jahr continues its international expansionist course by entering a joint venture with the Mexican magazine publisher Editorial Televisa, with effect from April 1, 2007. Editorial Televisa has already been publishing the Mexican editions of the popular-science magazine MUY INTERESANTE and the parenting magazine SER PADRES since 1986 under license. Editorial Televisa is part of Grupo Televisa, the largest media group in the Spanish-speaking countries. Gruner + Jahr has enhanced its position in China considerably by investing in BODA, a Chinese company based in Peking. The deal includes the merger of the Ray Li titles handled by BODA (four magazines) with the G+J/CLIP portfolio (four magazines).
