Double the gross circulation, and positive responses both from readers and advertisin–customers – Gruner + Jahr is very happy with the way things have been going at "Brigitte Young Miss" since its relaunch this summer. The first magazine in the new look, the August issue (on newsstands Jul 16), sold a total of 275,856 copies: or, as G+J reports, double the gross circulation of previous issues. The September issue (on newsstands Aug 13) registered another increase, selling 295,000 copies.  ...more

The latest addition to the BRIGITTE brand is called BRIGITTE COOKIE. With 164 pages in total, the new pocket format magazine presents quick and easy recipes straight out of the BRIGITTE kitchen. G+J are planning to publish COOKIE four times a year from 2004. In six categories ("pasta", "soups & salads", "mains", "fit and slim", "party!" and "So sweet") BRIGITTE COOKIE offers one recipe on every double page. Each magazine comprises 60 recipes in total. Gruner + Jahr, Europe´s largest magazine publisher, once again delivered a gratifying performance in 2004, at the same time forming the basis for lastingly increasing the company´s value and for strong growth. As G+J CEO Dr. Bernd Kundrun said today at the annual press briefing in Hamburg, the goal is to increase revenues to roughly €3.5 billion by 2010, while raising operating ROS to over 10 percent. Gruner + Jahr is investing in the future of its American print subsidiary Brown Printing (BPC): As part of an investment project, it plans to install two state-of-the-art offset rotary presses at its production plant in Waseca, Minnesota.
