Newspapers and magazines must be delivered to readers. Today that not only requires logistics know-how and reliable functional EDP systems, but also, and perhaps most importantly, high-quality marketing. G+J meets these requirements with its independent service department, DPV (Deutscher Pressevertrieb). It doesn't matter whether the titles are by Gruner + Jahr publishers or another publishing house. As a professional service provider and together with its five self-contained units, DPV Deutscher Pressevertrieb develops tailor-made sales strategies for internal and external customers in all sub-sections of the sales market:
Under the direction of Dr. Olaf Conrad, DPV Gruner + Jahr is responsible for and coordinates all sales and distribution activities for its clients from the publishing houses G+J, Motor Presse Stuttgart and FTD, and is hence geared towards the publishers or publishing groups where Gruner + Jahr AG & Co KG publishers are either majority shareholders or where they have assumed corporate leadership.
Under the direction of Uwe Henning, DPV Direct provides the professional direct customer marketing for all Gruner + Jahr magazines and titles of the publishing house customers ZEIT-Verlag, Egmont-EHAPA and mare/dreiviertelverlag. DPV Direct is divided into three divisions: subscription marketing, CRM services and CRM systems. All this is based on a modular, future-orientated IT system that covers all requirements to do with modern customer relationship management (CRM). SCW is a DPV Direct subsidiary company at the Stuttgart site. SCW provides the same CRM services for the titles of Motorpresse Stuttgart and further client publishing houses.
Under the direction of Lars-Henning Patzke, service provider DPV Network is responsible for the entire sales and distribution activities of its publishing house customers. DPV Network evolved from the IPV Inland Presse Vertrieb (National Press Sales Organization).
Under the direction of Reinhard Feder, DPV Worldwide carries out and develops foreign operations for all its publishing house customers in an independent and tailor-made fashion, depending on their requirements.
DPV Services is directed by Heino Dührkop, and combines central marketing services for all DPV units. This is where you can find the central sales force and retail marketing and central logistics, as well as IT support and system development. The Medien Logistik Center (MLC) (media logistics center) completes the service portfolio of DPV Services. With the help of cutting-edge warehouse and logistics systems, consignment sales, packing, shipping and remittance processing are realized for customers from the entire publishing industry.
